He's Almost Done Cooking!

So...being about to have a little guy join our family in the next couple of weeks, "nesting" has totally kicked in.  Nesting for me has involved totally prepping and stocking up necessities and emergency supplies for out home.  This includes out pantry, fridge, and freezer.
Need a list of things to freeze, store, and prepare for your own home?  Here is a selection of what I have done the last couple of weeks to prepare for our new one's arrival:

Homemade food in the freezer/fridge (will allow us to eat well, quickly for various meals):
- lasagna
- bran muffins
- waffles
- syrup
- tex-mex chicken
- tomato soup

Freezer supplies (prevents large shopping trips for about 4-6 weeks):
- chicken breasts
- ground beef
- ground turkey
- uncooked tortillas
- loaves of bread
- juice
- butter

Pantry supplies (ease to make the most simple dishes, and some treats if the urge arises!):
- canned goods
- flour
- sugar (white and brown)
- various baking chips (semi-sweet, dark chocolate, peanut butter, etc.)
- healthy snacks (fruit leather, granola bars, etc.)
- cereals

Hopefully we are prepared and ready to go and life at home will not be too stressful for the first few weeks of our new normal!  If you have any favorite freezer meals or baby preparation tips for the kitchen - I would appreciate them for sure!

  1. That is great! I have tried to make a lot of freezer meals/foods with both boys and it has been super helpful. I also always like to make some cookie dough and freeze it in balls, so it's ready to pop in the oven when I need a pick-me-up. :) It's helpful and all that nursing makes you SO hungry.

  2. I can honestly say I have never even thought of this! I am so glad you posted it for future reference. Of course you should have meals already made and prepare to be at home with the baby, DUH! We don't have very many babies in our family, so I wouldn't know! Great post! Thanks for the idea!
