Beer-Battered Halibut and Cod

I totally forgot to take pictures...I guess that means we will have to make this again soon!  Beer-battered halibut/cod is amazing.  If you don't drink alchohol (we don't) don't worry!  Alchohol cooks out, or you can use the non-alchoholic version we used!  This is a great meal with some homemade french fries and a salad.

1 1/2 lbs. cod and/or halibut
beer batter mix (you can find it near the seafood section of the grocery store)
1 bottle of Odoul's non-alchoholic beer
dipping sauces (tarter sauce, ketchup...whatever you want)
cooking oil

Heat the oil on the stove at medium to about 375 degrees.  If you don't have thermometer, you can drop in bits of batter to see if it is done.
Mix the box of batter and one bottle of the beer.
Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized pieces.
When the oil is ready, dip the fish pieces into the batter and drop carefully in the oil.
Let them cook until they are golden brown.
Remove and place on a paper towel on a plate to drain the grease.
Serve!

These are so good and not fishy (I don't like seafood that is too fishy)!  Stay tuned for a fun Valentine's dinner tomorrow!
