Death by Brownie

Wow.  These were AMAZING!  The brownie itself is so good and I can't wait to use it as a base for other brownie creations.  The marshmallows, caramel, chocolate, and pecans are so sweet - a glass of milk is a necessity when eating these.

Brownies
1 1/2 C semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
1/2 C butter
2 TBSP cocoa powder
1 C sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 C flour
1/2 tsp salt

Toppings
1/4 C semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
approximately 1 C miniature marshmallows (enough to put a layer of marshmallows on top of the brownies - will vary depending on pan size)
1/4-1/2 C coarsely chopped pecans
caramel topping

Grease the bottom and sides of a baking pan.  I used an 11"x7".  You can use and 8"x8" - just increase the first baking time by about 5-8 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350.
Melt the butter and 1 C semi-sweet chocolate chips in a small saucepan.  Stir constantly so the mixture doesn't burn.
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into a bowl.  Add in sugar and cocoa and combine completely.
Add vanilla and eggs (mix each egg in individually).
Mix in the salt and flour.
Fold in 1/4 C semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Pour in greased pan.
Bake for about 20 minutes (for an 11"x7" pan) until the top has a thin crust and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with some moist batter on it.
Cover with a layer of marshmallows.
Sprinkle with semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips.
Sprinkle with pecan pieces.
Drizzle with caramel topping.
Bake for another 5-10 minutes until marshmallows puff up and some on the edges start to turn golden.
Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them.
