Frosting

I will admit, I do not have a set frosting recipe, but this is my go to recipe for any type of frosting or glaze.  The measurements chage every time and sometimes, so do the ingredients (depending on the use).  Here is a basic outline...hope it works!

1 small container of whipping cream - or - 1/4 C softened butter
dash of salt
1-2 tsp vanilla (or peppermint extract, or whatever flavor you are trying to achieve)
powdered sugar
1/2 C milk (only if using butter instead of whipping cream)

Whip the cream until stiff or soften the butter.
Add the salt and vanilla.
Using a hand mixer, mix in the powdered sugar.  There is no set amount for the powdered sugar because it totally depends on what I am using the frosting for (less for a glaze for things like cinnamon rolls, more for stiffer frosting for things like sugar cookies).
If you need a little more liquid or are making the frosting with butter, add the milk in about a tablespoon at a time.
The frosting can then be dyed with food coloring.

Chocolate frosting: add cocoa at the same time you add the powdered sugar.  Add it about 1/2-1 TBSP at a time.

Good luck...make it your own and you will not be disappointed!
